If not caught or treated early, the tree can quickly die. The female EAB hatch their eggs in the cracks of the ash tree. Once hatched, they create galleries in the tree. Galleries appear in the tree like tunnels that are formed by the beatles. This causes the ash tree to lose important nutrients it needs to survive.
